A discussion - which to choose OL or RHEL

On Premise and VMWare

Please note that it appears that Oracle is gearing the business mindset towards the cloud.
On premise solutions which are still very much needed. There always be companies that will need that.
Particularly on premise VMware then RHEL would be a better choice.

• A quote – "With this in mind, OL5+UEK is a very nice option, provided you are not using VMware. 🙂"
• Red Hat and VMWare have worked alongside each other for decades, VMWare’s underlining OS was Red Hat.
• Essentially when it comes to licensing on VMWare – OL uses a licence per VM model, where as RHEL uses a per Datacenter licence
