Here will explain how to install Ubuntu Server edition onto an Orange Pi Win Plus
Requirements
- A laptop or desktop client machine running either
- Linux
- Windows
- Mac OS
- An μ SD card
- An μ “SD card reader/writer”, for the machine above to install the image onto said SD card.
- An Orange Pi Win Plus
Process
- Download the Ubuntu Server Xenial A64 Win V0 2 3fa84cf81954f59b9467a9a5.html image. You will most likely use the Mega Cloud link to download from there. When your browser prompts to allow this to write to your drive, please allow. I have carried this out using Windows Chrome.
- Unpack the downloaded file
- First unzip the file if it was zipped
- Then unpack the tar.gz file
- Then unpack the tar file
- The unpacking of these files can be carried out using 7zip, under Windows
- Under Linux you can unpack these as follows
- In the end you have an file called
OrangePi_WinPlus_Ubuntu16.04_Server_v0_3.img
- You can check the integrity of the file using the md5sum file
- PLace the μ SD card into the SD card reader and if need be plug the reader into the USB port of this machine, or the machine you wish to use the burn the image.
- Then burn the image to μ SD card
Initial Login
